Functionality

If an error occurs while using a software, the program is usually terminated by the operating system (e.g. Windows). The program "crashed". In order to analyze this case and prevent it in the future, our software engineers must receive information about the crash. The Mobiland BlackBox was developed for this. It records everything relevant to a crash, making it possible to find out what led to the problem. This data is then sent to our specialists for evaluation.

When the cause has been determined, changes are then made to the software in order to prevent a crash in the future and to increase the quality of the software.

Will i be monitored?

No. The BlackBox is only started by Windows when an error has occurred in the software.

The user is then informed of what happened and that a report of the problem can be sent. At any time, the user can cancel the actions and prevent the sending of data.

What data is transmitted?

Only data about the crashed process and information about the version of Windows are transmitted. Mainly internal states of the program are transmitted, such as information about what was last processed. If you want to use the analogy of a plane crash, you could say that the debris that was found at the crash site and photos of the accident site itself are transmitted.

This does not explicitly include personal information. However, it contains data that has just been processed by the software, just as the freight is found at the scene of the accident in the event of an aircraft crash. However, this data is very often only fragmented data junk.

Quality improvement

Our goal is to build software in such a way that errors never occur. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. (Theoretical computer science can even prove that in certain cases it is impossible to guarantee that all errors have been found.)

By the way we develop software and above all further develop, we try to increase the quality over time. In addition to the clean design of the products, this also includes an analysis of what didn't work.

We take every mistake seriously and want to correct every mistake. Unlike other companies, we don't have a minimum number of disgruntled customers that need to be reached before we look at a mistake!
